Greetings,
I am tuning a 1.8 degree stepper motor with the KStep, and a while using a 200 count encoder. In setting up the gain to make the motor match the encoder, I am wondering if it matters at all if I put the gain on the input or the output? I can get them command and position curves to match on the step response screen either way. Does it matter at all?
Thanks,
Scott

Re: CL Stepper
Hi Scott,
It shouldn't matter. Its just a matter of working/thinking in units of microsteps or encoder counts. Some Users even do things like to scale both to work in microns. I prefer microsteps.
