Konnect Tool Changer

Post by tmday7 » Sat Mar 09, 2019 4:27 pm

Hello Tom,
Sometime in the near future i will be starting on adding a carousel tool changer to my Hurco mill. Right now i am looking into how to automate it. Thinking of doing this with a PLC or adding another Konnect board. One question i have is the specs for Konnect output says .25mA up to 6W. Is this total or per output? Currently looks like there will be about 5 air solenoids and a couple relays along with sensors and switches to operate tool changer.

Thanks,
Troy

Hi Troy,

Sounds like fun.

The outputs are conservatively rated at 25V @ 0.25 Amps (not ma) per output.

Please remember to put reverse flyback diodes across any solenoid or relay coils.

Hi Tom,
The solenoids iam planing to use are 24VDC 3w, so i should be safe then. Will most likely add another Konnect. The price alone is a little cheaper than adding a plc with enough I/Os. And will also allow Kflop/Kmotion to handle everything.
Noted on flybacks.

Thanks again,
Troy
