Greetings,
Trying to connect a new Windows 11 computer to an KFlop V1.3 with KMotion Version 5.3.6. The install seems to work, but has an error when I try to install the drivers. Whenever I try to update the driver it says it already has the latest one.
Anyone else have this problem? Is the latest software functional on my hardware?
Thanks,
Snyggis

Re: KFlop V1.3 Driver Issues
Hi Snyggis,
For our Windows Drivers to load on Windows 11 Memory Integrity checking needs to be turned off. See this Thread.
Another option is to use a Utility from FTDI to set the PID MID of the USB chip back to FTDI's default values. In that case the pre-instaled Windows Drivers should work with Memory Integrity turned on. Let me know if you would like further details.
Yes the latest Software is functional with your Hardware.

Re: KFlop V1.3 Driver Issues
Thanks Tom,
I am trying to use this on a corporate computer, many managed settings - I dont even have admin rights. I am most interested in modifying the USB chip so the standard drivers will work. Do you have any further details on how to do that? Maybe another thread where someone has done that?

Re: KFlop V1.3 Driver Issues
Hi Snyggis,
To use the standard FTDI Drivers:
#1 - Download, Install, and Run the FTDI Utility FT_PROG.exe from FTDI here. Note if you don't have privilidegs to install and run programs on the target computer you may need to do this on another computer where you do. After KFLOP's USB device has been re-programmed it should be useable on the original computer.
#2 - Select Scan for devices (magnifying glass). A Device should be detected. If you have more than one FTDI device in your system you will need to determine which is KFLOP. You might disconnect KFLOP to see which Device disappears when re-Scanning.
#3 Right Click on the Device - Apply Template - From File and browse to where you saved the attached file KFLOP_FTDI.xml
#4 Right Click on the Device - Program Device
#5 Re-scan for devices and Verify the Properties Vendor ID is 0x0403 and Product ID is 0x6001
#6 Exit FT_PROG
#7 Cycle Power on KFLOP. KFLOP should now show in Device Manager as "USB Serial Controller"
#8 if this isn't the Target System connect KFLOP to the Target System.
#9 run KMotion.exe and verify it connects.
HTH
