I think the reverse flyback diodes in this picture should be placed between the relay0+ and relay0-(not between relay0- and gnd), or relay1+ and relay1-, isn't it? And this picture told us that the users should add the flyback diodes by themselves, right?

I think the diodes are shown correctly. The idea is to provide a local path for the current to recirculate.
