General question - Degrees in XY plane

I can't find a definitive answer to this, so I'm assuming there isn't one, but on the off chance somebody is aware of one, where is 0 degrees in the XY plane?
My searches have turned up 0 degrees at X+,Y+, and Y-. Plus numbered in both CW and CCW directions.

Hi Riley,
0 degrees is almost always in the +X direction (to the right).
+ angle is almost always CCW.
One common source of confusion is that on most CNC machines the table moves (or rotates) the stock. For example the table moves to the left to make a cut to the right. Much like trying to make a drawing by moving the paper instead of the pen. The directions should always be from the perspective of the tool/pen regardless of the machine configuration.
