Re: Snap-amp stepper configuration
I do not understand the servo turning procedures as applied to steppers. My procedure has just been to adjust velocity, acceleration and to a lesser extent jerk until the motions sound smooth. What can the graphs tell me on an open loop stepper system? Won’t any combination of settings show perfect ...

Snap-amp stepper configuration
I accidentally deleted tbe configuration on one of my machines and it’s been years since I’ve messed with configuration on it. I have not been able to find a document describing the setup. I vaguely recall that axis resolution in the trajectory planner is not as simple as just multiplying 200 steps ...

Re: Customizing gamepad interface
What is the ideal Visual studio to install ? I had 2017. It did an import and had me add mfc 8.1 (probably) and rebuilt. There were some warnings but no errors. It couldn’t find the exe to run and gave me a long message about linker. I tried it with vs2015 but it also required an import of the proje...

Is there anything a user could do with visual studio to modify jog behavior? Is there a third party app that fits between the gamepad And kmotioncn...

Re: SnapAmp power resistor fried
I don’t know if it would have fried before clamping or not. I did not think to turn clamping off before trying the new resistor. Both clamps are set at 80 V and my supply is 77 V but I believe this is a case of closing the barn door after the horse has bolted. Years ago I upgraded the power supply t...

SnapAmp power resistor fried
One of the large 25 watt power resistors on one of my snapAmp crumbled and electrically split too. The board still works. I replaced it and within a few seconds the ceramic housing split poped and smoked. It got so hot that it de-soldered itself and fell out on one end, opening the circuit. The boar...
