So external translator would be needed... is there anything existing that could be put to use?

Re: Add CanBus support
It is sounding like EtherCat is the only option - unfortunately needs an ethernet connection.

Re: Add CanBus support
Interesting. I had wondered about update rates. So sounds like canbus or modbus could only be used with limitations. And the more axes the slower the update? Re those specific Laifual motors Tom, I have contacted the manufacturer for detail on the protocols. At present, they support with Canopen and...

Re: Add CanBus support
Hi thanks I'm looking at a few options, some have can bus, some mod bus. Which would be easier to implement? I have not experience with any of these bus controls, so I'm not sure how motor specific the coding would need to be? However, I'm interested in taking advantage of the absolute encoders in t...

Re: Add CanBus support
Hi Tom I know this is an old post but is it possible the Kogna could support can bus? A lot of small robotics motors with integral drives and gearing are becoming available, such as used in cobots and robot dogs, mostly with can bus... Some motors do do have modbus option, but I haven't explored tha...

Kflop driver for Mac M series
Hi
Kflop used to work on Mac under Windows emulation. Recently it looks like there is a problem installing the driver on Macs based on the M series processors.
Have you heard of any work around?
Thanks Gerald

Re: Kogna ethernet connection with DHCP
Thank you Tom That explains everything. DHCP not working without the router is a bit unfortunate... I was hoping it might make life simpler to use DHCP universally, but obviously not possible. I can see connection being an ongoing support question for Mantis.. even at times for myself :) Moving on n...

Re: Kogna ethernet connection with DHCP
Thanks. A bit of fiddling round but Kogna now connects with DHCP. It does make me appreciate how easy Kflop is with its USB connection... but I suppose the price of progress.. I do find it a bit unclear who is requesting and who is assigning, but for now it works. In Putty requested is now 0.0.0.0 a...

Re: Kogna ethernet connection with DHCP
Hi Edit above.
The PC and Kogna are both connected to a small 5 port router. That is also connected to a modem.
I'll first try setting the Kogna requested address to zero using a terminal program....
Thanks G

Kogna ethernet connection with DHCP
Hi I've struck an issue with Kogna on my ethernet. I have been using a manual address on my IPV4 adapter. Network Adapter IPV4 = 192.168.0.106 Kogna = 192.168.0.100 This allows the Kogna to connect fine. However when I try to connect to the internet over the same network it will not access most web ...

Re: Read Failed Auto Disconnect
Mmmm. Well I have some code for checking available serial com ports. I might try adding that to do a once only check and identify. If it finds a port I can prevent it from assuming it might be a kflop... and not try to lock it.
