Subject: Kflop

I have a Kflop that stopped working. The computer  didn't recognise it and the U2 transistor is getting worm.

What can be wrong? Is there any chance to be fixed? Any suggestions?

Thank you,

Adrian

Hi Adrian,

The U2 is the voltage regulator for the DSP Core.  It normally does run somewhat warm.  You should be able to place your finger on it for 1~2 seconds.  The output voltage should be 1.2V (measure the back tab to KFLOP GND).

With everything disconnected apply +5V to KFLOP and check if the LEDs blink at least once.  If they do not blink then KFLOP is likely damaged.  It is not cost effective to repair.

If the LED's do blink you might try try the Flash Recovery procedure:

#1 exit KMotion

#2 power down KFLOP

#3 Run KMotion.exe

#4 Open Config/Flash Screen

#5 Depress "Recovery"

#6 follow instructions

#7 if successful Flash "New Version"

Regards
TK
