Kogna's Encoder Inputs
Kogna contains a total of 20 A/B quadrature encoder inputs normally referenced as channels #0 - 19.
The first 8 operate in the same single-ended LVTTL manner as KFLOP. Where a multiplex bit can be activated to move #0 - 3 input pins from JP7 to JP4. Similarly another multiplex bit can be used to move the #4 - 7 input pins from JP5 to JP6. Kanalog may be added to make these 8 single-ended LVTTL encoder inputs to be 5V differential A/B quadrature encoder inputs
Besides the 8 KFLOP encoder inputs described above Kogna adds 12 5V differential A/B quadrature encoder inputs referenced #8 - 19. These are connected to Kogna's 12 A/B 5V differential receivers. (Encoders #8 - 13) are each connected to the CHA+ CHA- CHB+ CHB- on JP8. (Encoders #14 - 19) are each connected to the CHA+ CHA- CHB+ CHB- on JP14.
In summary:
The first 4 (#0-3) may be connected to JP7 or JP4.
The next 4 (#4-7) may be connected to JP5 or JP6.
The next 12 (#8-20) are connected to 24 (12 pairs) of 5V Differential Receivers.
All IO including Differential Receivers can also be used as GPIO.
Note: Kanalog Option adds Differential Receivers for Encoders #0-7.
Note: With 8 SnapAmp Encoders being historically referenced as #8-15 when SnapAmps are present, Kogna Encoders #8-15 will be referenced as #16-27.
